John M. Wiebold is Vice President, One Global Sourcing – Agri-Food Supply Management and Responsible Sourcing. John has accountability for reducing General Mills’ raw material carbon footprint and advancing the company’s work to sustainably source 100% of its 10 priority raw materials by 2020. In addition, he leads the General Mills grain and flour sourcing teams and has accountability for Sourcing’s risk and raw material portfolio management processes. In order to meet changing consumer needs and to meet General Mills’ goals, he and his teams have increased their connections with suppliers and producers worldwide to better understand the work that happens at the origin of the raw materials that General Mills buys to produce its products.
John has been with General Mills since 2000. He has worked in a variety of Sourcing, Grain Operations and Supply Chain roles including experiences working closely with General Mills business units including Big G Cereals, Yoplait Yogurt, Betty Crocker Baking Mixes and Convenience and Foodservice.
Prior to joining General Mills, John spent eight years with the Archer Daniel Midland Co in various operations and commodity merchandising roles ranging from country elevator management to soybean meal merchandising.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Management from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. He and his wife, Hillary, live in Minnetonka, MN with their two children.
